Research profile
The primary research of our group investigates the ability of organisms to respond to ongoing and future environmental challenges. Using key ecological pollinators, such as bumblebees and mason bees, as study systems, we address gaps in our understanding through functional genomics, population genomics and bioinformatics. Ongoing projects in our group include:
- Understanding the genetic health and adaptive potential of key pollinator species
- Determining the genomic bases of cryptic species complexes
- Investigating genomic signatures of sexual conflict and resolution
- Assessing the biodiversity maintained in genomic databases
Given our background in genomics and bioinformatics, the primary mission of IQCB aligns directly with our research interests and motivations.
