Research profile

My research is mainly based on Alzheimer’s disease (therapy/ pathogenesis) and cognitively healthy aging. We are interested in identifying novel pathways involved in agerelated diseases or staying healthy along aging. For this, we analyzed e.g., cohorts of mice cross-sectionally or longitudinally and by this, faced large data sets that made help from bioinformatics experts valuable. Additionally, we recently started projects with single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics that changes our way of approaching research data, in general. Moreover, we often collaborate with labs that perform lipidomics analysis as another layer of data in addition to e.g., transciptomics.
