Research profile

My group is interested in the evolution of sex determination systems. We study the causes and consequences of sex chromosome evolution using bioinformatics as well as molecular techniques. Furthermore, we study how and why different sex determination systems evolve and turn-over using large-scale comparative genomics and integration of multiple omics techniques. To study gene expression profiles of different sexes, stages, and tissues more effectively, we plan on using machine learning approaches for which the expertise of the IQCB will be of great help.
