Research profile
I am heading the integrative systems biology lab at IMB since 2020 when I joined IMB. In my lab, we develop and apply computational and experimental approaches to go from “networks to mechanisms”. We do this from two different angles. One part of the lab focusses on more efficient strategies to structurally annotate the human protein interactome using machine learning approaches, crosslinking mass spectrometry, and high throughput protein interaction assays. Structural information on protein interactions is further integrated with human variation data to aid in variant characterization with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders. The second part of the lab focusses on data-driven, integrative approaches to biology where we lend our expertise in omic data integration and biological network analysis to derive correlations, functional relationships, and novel hypotheses from biological data.
